Analysis scope
Simulation approach
Static strength: check stress, deformation and stability under standard load cases per EN 12663 (car body) and EN 13749 (bogie frame).
Fatigue life: based on operating load spectra and material S-N curves (Goodman / Haigh correction), assess fatigue life and damage accumulation of welds and base metal.
Modal & vibration: modal, harmonic and random-vibration analysis avoids resonance with track excitation and evaluates ride stability and dynamic characteristics.
Value
Validates strength and fatigue compliance of key load-bearing parts before prototype vehicles, reducing bench-test iterations and shortening certification cycles.
For rolling stock, bogies, couplers and under-frame equipment, it builds a reusable structural-simulation workflow.
Extended capability
Explicit dynamics extends to vehicle crashworthiness and energy-absorbing structure analysis, supporting passive-safety requirements such as EN 15227.
