Structural system
A system of stiffened RC core tube + mega-column frame + 3 outrigger trusses + 10 belt trusses + herringbone eccentric bracing (below 36 m). Corner mega-columns are 3.4 m × 4.5 m at the base and 1.9 m × 2.9 m at the top.
Performance evaluation
Based on steel/rebar and concrete constitutive models, a two-stage method evaluated the seismic performance of key members: internal-force checks where the FEMA performance parameter < 1.0, and deformation/ductility checks where > 1.0.
Core-tube walls, coupling beams, mega-columns, belt trusses and the crown steel structure were all evaluated for plastic strain and axial compression/tension ratios — the mega-column steel and rebar stayed elastic throughout, and the crown met the Life-Safety (LS) target.
