Form
Background
Themed 'balancity', the Germany Pavilion comprises four irregular tilted volumes that appear weightless and mutually supporting — complex in form, with large cantilevers and a breathable mesh skin that traditional 2D drawings struggle to express and coordinate.
BIM application
BIM was used for 3D modeling, spatial coordination and construction detailing of the complex irregular structure, unifying change and multi-discipline coordination to ensure constructability and precise site delivery.
Value
Mastering a high-difficulty form digitally reduced site rework and clashes, ensuring this landmark pavilion was delivered to high quality within the Expo schedule.
